OLYMPIAN - raced fiercely approaching the 1300m and proved difficult to restrain. Due to the gelding's racing manners, driver J Cox was obligated to shift the runner wider on the track for safety reasons, resulting in ROSARIO being forced to race in a three-wide position for a brief period. The gelding continued to over-race for a considerable distance thereafter, causing Mr Cox ongoing difficulty in restraining and settling the runner. In view of its racing manners, the gelding was stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming. Mr Cox advised Stewards that the gelding would now be sent for a spell before resuming its preparation.

Broke again passing the 450m losing all chance. A warning was also placed on the racing record of the filly. Driver T Williams advised he would be recommending gear changes prior to racing next. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

A warning was placed on the filly's racing manners.
